C70 Wire Compacting Head

The C70 wire compacting head is ideally suited for creating neat, connection-ready packages from stranded wires. Using special ceramic jaws to hold the stranded wires in place, it works by simultaneously applying heat and compression to create a solid cuboid shape that facilitates connections to other components. As compared to ultrasonic methods, the surface of a resistance compacted wire is even and uniform: no individual strands! Wire compacting is ideal for joining large cables as found in automotive applications like the “intelligent battery sensor” which allows for smart battery power management. The compacted wire diameter may be up to 70 mm².
