A complete line of welding handpieces to be used with AMADA WELD TECH spot welding power supplies to manually weld small parts. With 5 different welding handpieces to choose from we have one that is certain to fit your application.

What are Resistance Welding Handpieces?

Resistance welding handpieces are manual welding tools designed for use with resistance welding power supplies to weld or tack small parts. Handpieces allow operators to apply welding current and contact force directly at the joint, providing flexibility and ergonomic control for a variety of resistance welding tasks.

How Resistance Welding Handpieces Are Used

Handpieces are typically operator-held and manually applied during the welding process. They deliver welding current while the operator aligns and contacts electrodes with the workpiece. Cable length and connector style affect energy delivery and reach, making handpieces adaptable to a variety of manual welding settings.

Handpieces are commonly used for:

  • Manual spot welding or tacking
  • Small part welding in production or R&D
  • Welding in hard-to-reach locations
  • Intermittent or low-volume welding tasks

Types of Resistance Welding Handpieces

AMADA WELD TECH offers a selection of handpieces suited to different force ranges and welding tasks, including:

  • GHP – “Gun” Handpiece — trigger-fired tool used to weld or tack materials that do not require stringent force control; available with 4-foot or 10-foot cables.
  • HDHP – Heavy Duty Handpiece — switch-fired handpiece for general welding/tacking tasks with extended cable length for flexibility.
  • HFP – High Force Handpiece — designed for welding or tacking where higher energy and force are needed, furnished with cables and RWMA electrodes.
  • PHP – Probe Handpiece — used for welding in areas that are difficult to reach; suitable for small or localized features.
  • THP – Tweezer Handpiece — tweezer style handpiece for welding small parts with lower energy and force requirements; available with 4-foot or 10-foot cables.
  • VBTWK/115 – Ball Tacking Kit — auxiliary tool used with compatible handpieces for forming ball tacks.

These configurations provide flexibility for welding small parts across different force and access needs.
