AMADA WELD TECH Inc., formerly Amada Miyachi America, formerly Miyachi America Corporation, formerly Miyachi Unitek was founded as the Weldmatic Division of Unitek Corporation in 1948.

Unitek Corporation was founded with the introduction of the first stainless steel orthodontic bracket, manufactured by a group of orthodontists in Pasadena, CA. The name “Unitek” comes from the term “Universal Bracket Technique.”
